[03]Cylinders

Custom hydraulic cylinders. Engineered, tested, delivered.

Project-based hydraulic cylinder production to ISO 6020-1, ISO 6020-2 (CETOP), ISO 6022 and welded heavy-duty — manufactured by ERS Hidrolik Silindir Sanayi A.Ş., the Soydan Group cylinder plant in İzmir. Design, machining, welding, painting, assembly and marking all happen in-house at the İzmir AOSB factory — the architecture behind blank-sheet-to-shipped-unit in under 10 weeks.

[04]Engineering envelope

Standard range to project ceiling.

The standard catalogue covers the majority of OEM and industrial requirements. Larger bore, longer stroke or higher pressure opens the project range through engineering review.

Bore — standard to Ø400, project to Ø1,000
12m

[05]Hydrocyl™ range

Six families. One engineering discipline.

Hydrocyl™ is a registered trademark of Soydan Hidrolik · WIPO WO500000001719832. Every Hydrocyl cylinder carries the brand's engineering file, serialised test report and the full Soydan quality stack behind it.

Six families built to the international standards most commonly specified by European industrial OEMs — with ATEX / IECEx and SIL2 servo variants on request. Online configurator launching Q3 2026 — until then, the Drawing Studio and Instant Quote tools cover the gap.

[09]Materials & proof

Built from European steel. Proven twice.

What goes into a Hydrocyl™ cylinder — and what comes out with it. Every claim below ships as paper: a signed, serialised test report and the full engineering file accompany each unit.

M1
European tube & rod
Cold-drawn honed tubes from European mills (ISO H8, Ra ≤ 0.4 µm). Hard-chrome-plated rod bars from European chromed-bar specialists (ISO f7, Ra ≤ 0.25 µm).
M2
European sealing only
Sealing exclusively from Kastaş, Trelleborg and other European sealing brands — matched to fluid, speed and temperature per application.
M3
Rod coating ladder
Hard chrome as standard; induction-hardened chrome, nickel-chrome duplex and HVOF tungsten-carbide coating on project basis for the harshest duty.
P1
Tested twice, certified once
100% of production leak-tested at working pressure and at 1.5× working pressure per ISO 10100. Signed, serialised test report with every unit.
P2
Full engineering file
2D + 3D CAD drawings for every single part, buckling calculation for long strokes, and the test report — delivered with every cylinder.
P3
Options that ship
Position sensing, ATEX / IECEx variants, integrated electro-hydraulic actuators. ISPM-15 heat-treated crates, ports plugged, customer RAL topcoat.
[10]Quality & testing · ISO 10100

Every cylinder. Tested, not sampled.

100% of production goes through the ISO 10100:2020 acceptance-test protocol on our in-house benches — welds having already passed NDT Level II inspection, gauges under calibration control. A cylinder that has not passed every step below does not ship.

T1
Proof pressure — 1.5×
Test pressure of 1.5× rated working pressure applied alternately to both ends of the cylinder and held for at least 10 seconds. No permanent deformation, no pressure decay.
T2
Internal leakage
Piston-seal bypass measured at rated pressure in both directions. Leakage beyond the standard's limits fails the unit — it goes back to assembly, not out the door.
T3
External leakage — zero
Rod gland and every static seal inspected under pressure. The acceptance criterion is not "minor weeping": it is zero visible external leakage.
T4
Minimum-pressure travel
The cylinder must stroke smoothly at low pressure — verifying breakout friction, sealing drag and freedom from stick-slip across the full stroke.
T5
Stroke & cushion function
Full stroke length verified against drawing; end-position cushioning performance checked where fitted, in both directions.
T6
Serialised test report
Results recorded against the unit serial number, signed by the test engineer, archived — and shipped with the cylinder alongside its engineering file.
1.5×
Proof pressure · held ≥10 s · both ends
100%
Of units tested — never batch-sampled
0
External leakage accepted
1:1
Signed test report per serial number

[12]Straight answers

Cylinder questions. Answered plainly.

01 What is the maximum bore, stroke and pressure you can manufacture?

Standard production covers bores Ø25–400 mm with strokes to 4,000 mm. On project basis Hydrocyl™ cylinders go to Ø1,000 mm bore, 12,000 mm stroke and 400 bar working pressure — mill-type, welded and round-flange constructions.

02 Which standards are the cylinders built to?

ISO 6020-1 (mobile), ISO 6020-2 / CETOP (tie-rod), ISO 6022 (round-flange heavy duty) and fully-welded custom envelopes. Welding is certified to EN ISO 3834-2 with NDT Level II inspection on welded joints.

03 How is every cylinder tested?

100% of production is tested to ISO 10100: proof pressure at 1.5× working pressure on both ends, internal and external leakage, minimum-pressure travel, stroke and cushioning. Every unit ships with a signed, serialised test report.

04 What is the lead time for a custom hydraulic cylinder?

Under 10 weeks ex-works İzmir for custom engineered cylinders — drawing review and an application data sheet come back within 48 hours of enquiry.

05 Do you accept one-off cylinders or only series production?

Both. One-off specials, short series and repeat OEM production run on the same line — the engineering file (2D/3D CAD, buckling calculation, test report) is produced for every order size.

06 Do you deliver to the UK, Germany and the rest of Europe?

Yes — active OEM supply runs across the UK, DACH and wider Europe, with a London office at Chiswick Park handling UK and European accounts. Cylinders ship in ISPM-15 heat-treated crates with ports plugged and customer RAL topcoat.

07 What documentation comes with each cylinder?

A complete engineering file: 2D and 3D CAD drawings for every part, buckling calculation for long strokes, the serialised ISO 10100 test report, and material certificates on request.
